Video of Work out

June 13th Workout

snatch - blah blah, 109 3x1
clean - blah blah, 138 3x1 (easy)
jerks from the rack - 115 4x2

cant do weighted pullups cuz i have to do any pullup on the rafters which requires an initial jump by me frown so i did a few bodyweight ones

i was supposed to do 8x1 for jerks from the rack, but i could easily handle 4x2 which is what i did last cycle. so i did it. sorry for deviating again, but i wouldve only taken a second break in between them if i did them all singles. i still concentrated on being snappy, and for the most part i got the bar path to go up behind my ears like it should, instead of out in front. good technique work, im proud of myself. the key was just to raise my elbows even higher

Eleiko Weight Set arrives

Over a month ago, Kyle ordered his own olympic weight set so he could train at our home. The shipment was a huuuuge hassle and took way longer than it should have. We had to call so many different times and call so many different people. Everyone gave us a different story and a new excuse as to what was going on... I was wondering if it was a big scam. But FINALLY they arrived yesterday! We made a platform using horse stall mats and a big piece of wood. It's not perfect but it's doing the job. The biggest issue was that the garage floor is not level, so we spent basically two days trying to figure out how to make the platform level so he wouldn't be lifting weights on a decline. It was a struggle. Once we got the platform level, and the weight set finally here - we discovered the next problem. The garage ceiling was not high enough for Kyle to lift! So, we removed the drop down ceiling and now there is plenty of room for him. While I am on the subject of removing the drop down ceiling, I must say thank you to our brother in law Gary. He and Heather came over to help us fix the leveling issue with the platform, and he ended up staying all night ripping the garage ceiling apart for us and helping clean up the mess. Kyle and I were both very appreciative for his kindness.

On Sunday night, we had been trying to fix the platform and make it level and we weren't having much luck. It was pretty discouraging because the whole situation with the weights was just taking a lot longer than it should have, and there had been so many hiccups, it just seemed like nothing was going right. I told Kyle that maybe we should try to say a prayer. So, we did. We asked Heavenly Father that somehow it would work out that Kyle would be able to lift in the garage...that I had tried every thing I could think of to help him and I didn't know what to do anymore and how to fix these problems. Then the very next day Heather and Gary offered to come over and help, and everything is perfect now! It really was a big blessing for both of us, and we are very happy to have such wonderful family who are all always willing to help.

So, enough mushy stuff and let's start talking about lifting heavy weights. Kyle has been doing Olympic Weightlifting for 2 years. 14 months of those 2 years though he couldn't do it, due to being deployed, but other than that its been basically every day for 2 years straight! I can tell that it is his 'thing'. He really enjoys it and is super talented in it. I am so happy he finally has his own weights because it's really difficult to find a gym that has bumper plates and it sucks to have to do olympic lifts with iron weights. Since this is such a big part of his life, I wanted to blog about his goals and achievements! I also love weightlifting but can't start up again until a while after Luka is born - so hopefully later i'll be able to add some posts about me, too. But for now we'll focus on Kyle bear! I want to keep track of his work outs and eventually his competitions and all of his achievements he makes on a daily basis with his lifting.
